ProStor support from CommVault
posted on 15 February 2008 05:19
ProStor and CommVault have announced that the former's archiving software works with the latter's removable disk archive appliance.
CommVault's Simpana Data Archiver and its Exchange Compliance Archiver products will happily and reliably write and read archive data from ProStor's InfiniVault archive appliance. This is fitted with RDX removable hard drives which combine the speed of disk access with the removability of tape cartridges to provide a fast yet secure means of archiving data.
Simpana according to CommVault, is designed to work seamlessly by using a single code base and set of common services for backup, recovery, replication, archive and retrieval operations. This is claimed to deliver operational efficiencies that were previously impossible.
The combined products enable customers to archive data and so better meet compliance requirements as well as safeguarding historic information about their business.
