Xbox is not blue - yet

Clever Microsoft did not build the HD-DVD technology t supports into the Xbox gaming console; there is no HD-DVD drive in the console itself. That means it would be easy enough to replace an external HD-DVD drive with a Blu-ray one.
The question isn't 'if' Microsoft will do this but 'when'. Soon enough new games won't become available on HD-DVD and Sony will be able to trumpet PlayStation superiority as a better gaming console as well as a better movie-playing unit.
Microsoft knows it has just got to grit its teeth and adopt the Sony-led Blu-ray high-definition video disk format. It backed the wrong horse, albeit half-heartedly, which turned out to be a good thing, and can now concentrate on competing with PlayStation III on common video disk ground.
