FRAMINGHAM, Mass., March 10, 2008 -– Diligent Technologies Corporation, a leading provider of enterprise-class de-duplication and data protection solutions, announced today that it is extending remote site replication capabilities to its ProtecTIER™-based Sun Enterprise 6000 Midrange Series Storage System de-duplication solution with Sun’s Remote Volume Mirroring (RVM).

This complete DR site replication solution is available immediately only through Sun’s professional services. Last year, Diligent entered into a global reseller agreement with Sun to resell the ProtecTIER suite of solutions to its customers.

The Diligent solution features 450 MB/s throughput per system, scalability of up to 1PB per node, 100% data-integrity, and state of the art support. It allows users to incorporate a proven enterprise-class de-duplication solution with their off-site disaster recovery while tremendously reducing the required replication bandwidth.

Diligent and Sun have experienced success with large–scale enterprise deployments of solutions that combine the flexible ProtecTIER platform with Sun hardware and software.

ProtecTIER is one of the leading enterprise class software de-duplication solutions and offers a high degree of flexibility, capacity, and scalability without compromising performance. The merging of ProtecTIER’s award-winning de-duplication and Sun’s Midrange 6000 series with RVM replication provides customers with an economical solution combining superior disaster recovery capabilities while eliminating the extra cost, complexity, and risk of transporting tapes.
