Spectra T950 Customer Wins SNW Award for Best Practices in Video Storage

BOULDER, Colo. April 21, 2008 NASCAR Media Group recently won the race for Computerworld's Best Practices in Storage Awards Program, in the 'Selecting and Deploying a Storage Network' category at Storage Networking World (SNW).

NASCAR Media Group's Spectra T950, combined with Front Porch software, will store more than 50,000 hours of video footage, including all events, TV programs, movies, commercials and other broadcast data.

"NASCAR Media Group selected the Spectra T950 due to its high storage density and low power consumption, which meets environmental requirements in our facility," said Scott Rinehart, director of internal operations at NASCAR Media Group. "We are now assured that the visual history of NASCAR will be well preserved."

SNW hosts the "Best Practices in Storage" Awards Program bi-annually. Five categories are presented with five finalists and one top honoree recognized in each.

"Spectra Logic has enjoyed 'riding shotgun' with NASCAR Media Group throughout the product implementation, and is proud to offer a digital asset archiving service for a customer with such a prestigious heritage," said Brian Grainger, VP of Federal and Southeast US sales for Spectra Logic. NASCAR Media Group uses its new implementation to preserve and archive high-resolution video files that comprises the previously broadcasted history of NASCAR.
