New Hitachi Data Systems SVP and GM for Asia Pacific

HDS has appointed Mark Kay as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific. He will provide sales direction and leadership to the region and the appointment is effective immediately.

Kay will work to improve coverage, enhance the business strategy, and leverage Hitachi Data System's broad range of solutions to accelerate the company's growth and market share. He has 20 years of experience and knowledge.

Prior to this appointment, Kay was the country manager of HDS in Australia and New Zealand. During his tenure  Hitachi's ANZ business grew strongly in both revenue and profit. Additionally, Kay developed a strong, versatile team and created a solid, solutions-oriented business.

DeMont, HDS' Executive Vice President and General Manager for Worldwide Sales, Services and Support, said, "Hitachi Data Systems' Asia Pacific business has experienced tremendous (growth)and we are confident that Mark's leadership and strategic vision will take the business to the next level of excellence. Mark will continue with our missions of building high performance teams, increasing operational efficiency, and balancing performance across the region."
