EMC on enterprise flash drives

EMC's chief strategy officer for its Symmetrix products, Barry Burke, presented EMC's views on enterprise flash solid state drives (SSD) to financial analysts yesterday.
His PowerPoint deck - downloadable below - contains performance statistics comparing EMC's SSDs and hard drives on IOPS, IOPS with cache misses, energy needed to store a terabyte of data and energy needed for a number of IOPS. The EMC SSDs were superior in all cases.
Burke's slides state 'Flash is the new foundation for high performance applications' but he confines his presentation to Symmetrix and says nothing about high-performance CLARiiON applications.
Interesting stuff that bulks out EMC's position and implies that all the other high-end array manufacturers are going to have to follow suit or face a competitive disadvantage.
