HighPoint Technologies announces the availability of its comprehensive entry-level SAS RAID PCI-express x1 and PCI-Express x4 solution for gaming and professional Workstation applications.

HighPoint believes that the motivating factors for high performing desktops/Workstations to migrate to SAS from SATA are based on affordability:

1) HighPointSAS RAID offered at MSRP $169 per unit (including cable)

2) A 146GB/15000rpm speed SAS drive sells at $172.

HighPoint has a complete 4 SAS-drive RAID 0 solution and customer can gain 2 x times faster performance compared to a SATA RAID 0 alternative.

The entry level SAS RAID controller RAID 0 (4 drives) – is rated at 500MB/sec sustained I/O whereas an entry-level SATA RAID controller RAID 0 (4 drives) is rated at a maximum of 250MB/sec sustained I/O
