Tarmin Technologies, a provider of intelligent, active archive products for enterprise and mid-market organisations, has hired  Adrian Williams as European director of channel sales and alliances.

Tarmin supplies NOADS (Networked Object Aware Data Storage) which is deployed as a heterogeneous grid of clustered servers. It supports DAS, SAN, NAS, tape, and optical media, and integrates into existing data center infrastructures. NOADS seamlessly archives and migrates data from high-cost primary storage to low-cost secondary and off-line storage tiers.

It satisfies an organization’s regulatory, governance, and compliance requirements by ensuring secure, long-term data retention, and fast search and retrieval of valuable business records. Its policy-driven software completely automates retention, encryption, access, data deduplication, migration, shredding policies and more.

Karl Edwards, business development VP for Tarmin, said: “Adrian’s extremely successful track record demonstrates his essential role in creating strong relationships with European resellers, VARs, and systems integrators. His extensive experience with the different local channel models and broad knowledge of the storage solutions market will be pivotal as Tarmin delivers its NOADS platform through our channel partners.”

Williams was most recently Strategic Alliance Manager for EMEA at Dot Hill Systems, the OEM provider of disk-based storage subsystems. There, Williams was responsible for the development of OEM relationships for the company’s R/Evolution storage platform. Prior to Dot Hill, he spent five years at SUN Microsystems where he was involved in numerous partnership and channel management roles. As Alliance Manager for UK and EMEA at Dot Hill, Williams managed the Sun OEM relationship and partner programs for the SUN SE3000 storage array and oversaw annual revenues in excess of $40 million.
