Panasonic cuts Blu-ray Combo drive price in China

Follows Pioneer
Panasonic has cut the price of its Blu-ray Combo drive - it also plays DVDs - in China to 988 yuam from 1,299 yuan, in a pricing tit-for-tat with Pioneer.
In late June Pioneer cut its Blu-ray Combo drive to 999 yuan ($145) by 40% from 1,699 yuan. That had followed a Panasonic cut from 1,999 yuan to 1,299 yuan. Now Panasonic is undercutting Pioneer once again.
More here.
Hopefully these prices and the price competition indicate that Blu-ray player prices in the US and Europe will fall to much more affordable levels.
