Business units should choose storage from a central and co-ordinated menu according to a new article available to registered McKinsey readers
The synopsis says data storage has become one of the fastest-growing parts of the IT budget but companies often store many more copies of data than they need. IT executives should develop better policies for managing storage, such as a menu of storage options, with cost attached, so as to develop a more efficient storage organization.
