EMC is investing €20 million in its Ovens, Cork, Ireland, operation and creating 50 jobs over the next five years.
The software development jobs include work in the operating system, Symmetrix software, data center virtualization, data center automation and the consolidated services area according to a report.
The company employs 1,600 staff at the Ovens facility which carries out manufacturing, customer support, technical solutions and international finance. The 50 new jobs don't represent a proportionately large investment against this base.
