BANDF AD
UEC – Ultra Ethernet Consortium. It was founded in 2022 under the Linux Foundation, as an industry group of over 40 companies—including HPE, AMD, Intel, and Broadcom—developing an open, Ethernet-based networking specification optimized for AI and high-performance computing (HPC) workloads. It enhances Ethernet with low-latency, high-bandwidth features like the Ultra Ethernet Transport (UET) protocol, drawing from HPE’s Slingshot interconnect, to support scalable data centers and reduce reliance on proprietary alternatives like InfiniBand. The UEC 1.0 spec was released in June 2025, with hardware expected in 2026.
